Overview about the Kang Yatse II Expedition.
The Kang Yatse II trek is an exciting and demanding trek that combines natural beauty, local culture and high-altitude excitement. The 6,250m (20,505ft) Kang Yatse II is one of the famous peaks around the Leh region of India and gives trekkers the chance to climb a high-altitude peak while avoiding the crowds of more popular ranges like Stok Kangri. Although one of Ladakh's 6000m peaks, Kang Yatse II is widely regarded as the easiest of the high-altitude peaks to climb, and provides a great introduction to high-altitude climbing in a sensational, remote location.
The 11-day trekking and expedition allows for a slow ascent to altitude and plenty of time for acclimatization, which in turn minimises the risk of altitude sickness and makes for a more enjoyable summit attempt. From the busy market town of Leh, you trek into the beautiful Markha Valley, which offers scenic landscapes, attractive villages and heritage of Ladakh. This trek involves walking through some of Ladakh’s finest and virtually unexplored landscapes, giving you a chance to experience the both natural phenomena as well as cultural landmarks of the region.
