Zansker trek it is one of the difficult trek in ladakh. This trek offer while are different barren landscape and some day will need to cross over high passes of around 4990 meter on same day, So this trek are giving us very unforgetable memories, and trek camp mostly over in the village, village are situated in the very high places when we will reach over there than once we can think how to people are settled and survive over here,
Day 1 : (Arrival at Leh airport and transfer to hotel,)
Arrival at Leh airport from the Delhi by flight or will reach over the leh from land by Monali road or from the Sri Nager road and check in hotel stay the night at hotel.
Day 2 : (Full day rest or relaxation for the body of after long drive,)
Day 3 : (Acclamation in this elevation.)
Acclamation day, during the day time visit to world highest motor-able road and visit of monument around the leh, and after all that back to hotel and prepare and check of all trekking gear, and stay the overnight at hotel.
Day 4 : (Leh – Phanjila via Lamayuru (5 hrs drive)
We leave from Leh to Lamayuru in the morning by jeep. Along the way we will go to visit of some oldest monastery in Ladakh like Likir, Alchi Lamayuru so this all are really truth worth of historical monastery. And after visit continue drive to phanjila and camp overnight.
Day 5 : (Phanjila- Hanupatta 3760m (5- 6 hrs)
Today trekking will be bit far as well as the way are mostly narrow, and the route are leading from phanjila valley into the spectacular gorge and rock, rock rising from Zansker river about 1000m high, the The Zanskar River are deep down in the gorge, and in this barren,harsh landscape beautiful rosebushes flower. We have to camp at the close of river just after the village of Hanupatta (3760m), from where we can get great view down the valley.
Day 6 : (Hanupatta - Photoksar 4200m via Sir Sir la (6- 7 hrs)
We can walk on the side of wide spongy valley cross before the river and continue to walk long and gradual step till to Siersi la pass 4850m). and again we descent to photoksar after enjoying this beautiful top, From this top we can get great view over the next pass Singe La 5090M as well as Zansker range, and we will descent from this pass to Photoksar village 4200M 2 hours walk and this village are decorate with the green field and this is situated among the mountain cliff The trail towards Sumdo disappears in the deep gorge down to the right of the village. We make our comfortable camp for the night close to the village and enjoy a well-deserved rest.
Day 7 : ((Photoksar – Base of Singe la4600 m (5- 6 hrs)
After crossing the small pass of Bumiktse la (4200), we enter into the broad and lush Photang valley. A gentle trail leads us through this enjoyable landscape, where the villagers keep their yaks and horses grazing. One of the most fascinating things about the Zanskar trek is the ever-changing landscape. Every time you turn a corner or cross a pass, a new world will appear in front of you: the deepest gorges, the greenest fields, the majestic Zanskar River giving formations and life. Slowly we ascend towards our camp at the base of Singe la (4600 m) camp overnight here..
Day 8 : (Base of Singe la – Gongma 3840mvia Singe la (6-7 hrs)
A gradual ascend will lead us to Singge la (5090m), meaning the "Lion Pass." The last few hundred meters are steep, but the top of the pass presents a rewarding view. From the pass a steep descend for few hundred meters. We follow the trail high above the Zanskar River, the mountains having taken a greener and gentler formation, before ascending gradually to Kiupa la (4400 m). From the pass the trail down is steep zigzag to the village of Gongma (3840m).
Day 9 : (Gongma- Lanang via Lingshed (6- 7 hrs)
From Gongma we climb up the gentle trail to the Margum la (4400m) from where we can see Lingshed an hour or so away. The monastery is founded by the Gelugpa order and gives home to around 60 monks. The village itself is spread out over a big area, enclosed in green fields of barley. After visiting monastery of Lingshed we will continue towards Lanang.
Day 10 : (Lanang- Zingchen via Hanumur la (6-7 hrs.)
Day 11 : (Zingchen- Hanamur via Parfi la (4- 5 hrs)
In the early morning we head for our last pass before Padum, Parfi la (3950m), juniper covered trail zigzagging up to the pass. This area is also home to the Himalayan brown bear, as well as blue sheep. From the pass we descend down to the banks of the Zanskar River and to the village of Hanamur (3380m), which will be our camp for tonight
Day 12 : (Hanamur- Pishu (4-5 hrs)
This is a relatively level stage along the Zanskar River. On the way we will pass Pidmo (3420m), a small village with a few families. It is another 2-3 hours journey to Pishu, (3470m) which is a scenic village located on the west side of the Zanskar River. Hanamur, Pishu and Pidmo together with Tsazar and Honia on the other side of the river, constituted the former kingdom of Zangla. The entrance to Pidmo is marked by a long mani wall and chortens, from where we find our way to a grassy campsite.
Day 13 : (Pishu – Padum (6-7 hrs)
We have another quite easy day ahead of us along a dry, dusty jeep road. From Pishu the trail leads to Rinam (3550 m), following the banks of the Zanskar River. Arriving at Karsha (3600m) we can visit the famous monastery. Karsha monastery: Karsha monastery is one of largest monasteries of the Gelukpa sect, founded around the 10th century A.D. and with 140 resident monks. It is situated on a hillside with an impressive view of the entire valley. After visiting the monastery we continue towards Padum (3531m), the capital of Zanskar and a major trade center in the valley.
Day 14 : (Padum to Kargil 9-10 hrs.)
After the breakfast drive to Kargil via Penze La. Overnight stay in the hotel at Kargil.
Day 15 : (Kargil to Sri Nager or drive to Leh.)
From the Kargil, it is two different way either leave to Sri Nager or Leh option are there and if you can leave to srinager it will take 8 hours and if back again to leh it will take 8 to 9 hours drive.
Day 16 : (Fly back to home from leh or from sri nager)
